Merging from Excel to Word

A

Ann

Hi all,

We just upgraded Office '97 to Office XP.
We have this excel worksheet that we need to merge with
this letter in Word. When it merges, it loses the dollar
sign in front of the amount and also doesn't include the
two zeros after the decimal point. But it does include
any number after the decimal point, but not the zeros.
What do I need to do to fix this? We have thousands of
letters that have to go out every month and it would be
hard to hand-fix every amount that has two zeros after
the decimal point.
I could however fix the dollar sign. I just added
manually in front of the field and it works fine.
But with Office '97 I didn't have to do that.

Please help,

Ann

Hi Ann,

In Word go to Tools/Options/General and turn on "Confirm Conversions
at Open". Then reopen your Excel data source and when prompted select
the DDE option.
