Merging InfoPath Templates

Hi,

I have a serious problem merging two InfoPath forms.
It's not about merging xml-files of two forms, it's about merging two templates into one.
Both temples have the same schema.
If I copy one view from one template to the other template then all bindings got lost.
I know that I can rebind the controls via "Change binding...", but in this case it doesn't work.
The view to copy contains an Repeating Table.
If I change the binding of the Repeating Table the old design went away and only the newly binded fields show up.
This breaks our neck because a lot of work was put into the original Repeating Table.
Any help is welcome.

Have you tried editing template.xml in notepad to cut and paste the
desired items?

Hi Renee,

Thanks for replying.
Yes, I have tried that.
I also tried to replace the xsl for the view with the one from the old form
but it doesn't work out.
The view only showed strange signs but no form.
Any other ideas?

Shucks, I would have thought that would work....

Are you *sure* the schema is the same? Perhaps you mean that they are
"approximately" the same? For that matter, its odd that "Change
Binding..." doesn't work for the individual controls.

Have you tried creating an empty RepeatingTable in the new form and
then copying the contents/controls of the prior RepeatingTable a set
at a time? If you copy just one of the controls from within the
table, are you able to change the binding on that one control?

The only other suggestion that comes to mind is to grep the
differences in each pair of files between the two packages and work
from there at resolving the differences manually.

So what all does this repeating table do? The curiosity's killing me.
:)
