Hi =?Utf-8?B?Smlt?=,
I would like to create a word document (letter) that can link to a data source or
another document. The data source would have a number of different bullet points that
could be selected from to populate the primary word document. How would I go about
this???Right off-hand, I'd say
- put the paragraphs in a Word document
- select each "option" and bookmark it
- use Insert/File, specifying a range (the bookmark name) for the paragraph you want
- to make it more user friendly, set up a UserForm with a list of the options
An alternate route, if this is document-type specific, would be to use AutoText entries in
a template. AutoText entries can be placed in categories, according to the style with
which they were formatted. Word has an AutoText toolbar with a dropdown list that shows
entries for the current style. This would be an easy way to provide the functionality,
without requiring any macros.
