Merging Pictures into reports.

Gus

I have completed a factory inspection and recorded issue
details in an excel spreadsheet. A Word document then
merges the issue details into formatted reports.
In addition to the details of each issue there is a photo
(jpg) that I would like to insert or better still link
into the merged word document. The picture file names are
in a column of the excel spreadsheet (Also as Hyperlinks),
and the files are located in the same directory as the
excel and word files.
Can any one offer any suggestions?

This nature of inspection and report will be an on going
thing.

Thanks Gus

Gus,

You can create an INCLUDEPICTURE field that incorporates a MERGEFIELD field:

{ INCLUDEPICTURE { MERGEFIELD IMAGE_LINK \* MERGEFORMAT } \d \*
MERGEFORMAT }

Note: use \d to tell Word not to store the picture with the document (i.e.
hyperlink it).
