Merging two visio documents

Is there any possible way to merge two visio documents? That way two
different people can work on the same project and merge the documents
without having someone retype everything the other person did to update the
document.

Currently, two methods exist: manual cut and paste, or using VBA code to
copy page contents from one doc to another.

Maybe I should clarify myself.
I meant to say is how can I merge packages in a vsd file into another vsd
file without having to redo everything?

I'm confused-- was my answer insufficient or inappropriate? Maybe I'm not
understanding the question.

Both methods I mentioned will eliminate "retyping" in an effort to merge vsd
contents, although *some* "redoing" (layout tweaking) will likely be
required. Shapes don't always paste in the same layout as the original.
This is where a VBA approach will provide benefits (the original shape
locations can be read and duplicated). With either method, you will have to
insert new pages to host the copied ("merged") content. Regardless, AFAIK,
there currently exists no other means of merging VSDs.

Post back if we're still disconnecting. If I can't help there are plenty of
others who can.

No, you were correct. I was the one not understanding your answer. Thank you
for the help! This will make it easier for both developers to work with the
same file.

Thank you
