Merging two Word documents together

Is there anyway that select information from one word
document can be automatically retrieved and input into
another word document or template, such as filling out the
first document with award information for example and
certain info is automatically input into a certificate?

Hi Chris,

Yes, but give us a bit more information to go on if you want something more
detailed.

Thanx for responding Doug. I have a worksheet where I
input information i.e., name, inclusive dates, and a
summary that need to be place in another word page or word
file that will be printed on a certificate. In order to
be confident that the info we review on the worksheet is
accurately reflected in the certificate, I would like to
be able to merge the data onto the other page or
document. I have researched using bookmarks and REF
statements. Is this the best way to do this or are there
other "tricks of the trade"

Hi Chris,

It's starting to sound more like and application for mailmerge.

See the article "How to create a Mailmerge" at:

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MailMerge/CreateAMailMerge.htm

and "Creating a mail merge Data Source" at:

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
