message at boot from outlook express

I am not using outlook express but, rather, outlook as my email client. I
have never run outlook express on this system. Just recently, I get the
following message when my desktop resolves at logon:
" To free up disk space, outlook express can compress messages."
I HAVE had some archiving errors in Outlook, but don't understand how this
would be connected, nor why I am getting this message when I am not using
Outlook Express. Any ideas on how I should proceed? I have been cancelling
out of this message.

If you are posting to news groups, you are using Outlook Express. Allow OE
to compact your messages if you don't need to keep your old postings.

If you have Windows Search 4.0 (I don't really know the full, proper
nomenclature of this product), it is probably indexing the MSOE database,
whether you are using MSOE, or not. You may be able to find an option to
exclude MSOE from indexing. Or something like that.
