Message Pop Ups in MSP 2003

Hello,

I have planned a project and updations are happening . But suddenly I see a
message popping up and mentioning to make a task As soon as possible as it
cannot be completed. Now it would be nice if someone can help me in
understaning this!

Does it mean that the predecessor task might have delayed by the resource so
the current is impacted and is supposed to change ?

Also if this so what should be done?

Thanks

Girija,

That tells me that you have set hard constraints against a task and
that a predecessor task is not being completed in time to support the
hard constraint. You should look at the task numbers mentioned in the
pop-up. You should also replan uncompleted work. To do that:

1. In Project Professional, Tools > Tracking
2. Select Update Project
3. Select Reschedule Uncompleted Work to Start After
4. Select the day before the first working day of the week (generally
Sunday).

You should have a baseline established and you should see changes when
you use the Tracking Gantt. You might want to save a copy of the
before and then use the compare versions feature.

Hello Mark,

Will try as mentioned. But when you say save a copy , since I am working
with Master project in which subprojects are inserted. I have to save all
Master as well as sub projects by opening each individually, correct!

Thanks
