Message Reminder

When I try to dismiss an appointment I receive an error message stating
"Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again. Cannot locate
recurrence information for this appointment." Also, I cannot click snooze for
the same reason. What can I do to get rid of this appointment?
