Message when saving files

When saving to a USB memeory key and also to the A drive
i get a message from Windows Explorer saying "The target
cannot handle this type of document". All my files
continue to save correctly without any problems but i'm
curious to know why this message comes up and also what
does it mean?????

Hi, June,

I've heard of Word having problems with saving directly to removable drives
in the past, and the workaround is to save to your hard drive, then copy the
files to the removable media. I don't know the cause or if there is a
permanent solution.

If you need more information, you'll want to post back with what
application(s) you're using, and what your operating system is. You don't
even mention if you're using Microsoft Office, which is what this newsgroup
is for.

Thanks for replying. My operating system is Windows XP
and i'm using Microsoft Office 2000 Pro. I get this
message even when I'm saving Excel, Access Files etc. I
shall try your way around it and see what happens. Its
not a major problem, because files are saved correctly,
just annoying.
