Messages are not being received

My company uses Outlook 2003 as the email client on a POP/SMTP server (Daemon
tools). Since yesterday people people started complaining that there message
show that they've been sent, but they are not received on the other end. From
the Web client, the messages sent are being received, so the problem is
defintlly on the pc/outlook.

On one pc I ran detect and repair and that solved the problem, but on another
the problem is still there. I've just installed SP2, but this also does not
correct the problem. Currentlly I'm doing an office update on two outlook
items in the hope that it will correct this problem.

I suspect a security patch from Microsoft caused this problem. Any
ideas/solutions ?

Not a valid conclusion.

Enable diagnostic logging and see if the messages are reaching the server.

This says unequivocally that your mail server accepted you message. Any
non-delivery, therefore, is the fault of your ISP and this proves it.

Hi,

Thanks for all the help. I do appreciate it. I reloaded the pc yesterday.
Winxp SP2, Office 2003 including outlook 2003. Email is working fine again.
After installing SP2 for office, security updates and patches, email is again
not working. Still think the ISP is the problem?

Regards,
Marlin

If the log file shows that the ISP accepted the message, yes. Make sure
you're not scanning messages with an antivirus scanner, though, just to get
one more piece out of the way.
