Messages end up None Category in Outbox. Won't Send

If i compose a message from the Inbox and Send, Outlook processes
Send/Receive correctly. But, if I switch to Outbox before sending, the
message moves under the None heading - even if I don't try to open / edit it.
Send / Recieve then does not Send this message. If I Open the message under
the None heading, I can edit and return it to Outbox. But it remains under
None, and does not Send. If I then Forward the message, it appear in Edit
mode, with another instance of my Signature, and the original To and CC
addressees already entered.

How can I correct this problem? It's confusing to use the Forward "trick",
remove the Signature, Send, and then go back and delete the original message
from under the None heading in Outbox ... but that's the workaround in the
event I need to edit any of the messages waiting in my Outbox.

Dumb question for you... why are you switching to the Outbox folder? There's
really no reason to be in there.

Do you have a preview pane or something turned on in that folder?

From time to time, I want to edit a message that I have composed. And,
sometimes, I forget to attach a file that I reference in the text of the
message. Joys of aging grey matter, I guess.

Another reason for switching to Outbox ... I've been doing it for years with
prior versions of Outlook and with 2003 until just recently. So, it seems
like it should still work.
