Messages left on hard drive

Whenever I receive and send a message, a copy is saved on my hardrive as vrge_messages. When the emails are deleted through Entourage (and deleted in the trash folder) they still appear on my hardrive. How do I prevent this?

A .vrge message is a cache file and not an actual Entourage message. I
suspect that you are checking the file before Spotlight has had time to
update that file.

Entourage stores all your messages and other data in the database file.

these are spotlight cache files.

You can prevent their formation by turning off spotlight in the
Entourage preferences, but that will have a significant impact on
searching in Entourage!
