Hello,
I recently transitioned to Outlook 2007 from Outlook 2003. I have
noticed two things. First, Outlook 2007 is horribly slow when
performing send/receive. This has been discussed elsewhere, so I'm
not dealing with that here (although it is frustrating). More
importantly, some (not all) messages in my Outlook 2007 Inbox simply
do not appear for some reason. For example, Outlook 2007 says it is
downloading 15 messages, but only 3 show up after the download is
complete. The remaining messages cannot be found (they are not in my
Junk folder or Norton Antispam folder either) - they are simply GONE!
I have no filtering rules set up of any kind.
What is really interesting is that if I open the PST file in Outlook
2003, the messages show up in the Inbox!!
I am not sure what to do at this point. Are there some new controls
that prevent messages from being shown? If so, where are they
located? I cannot imagine that this is the case, however, because one
of two identical messages from the same sender disappeared, while the
other showed up in Outlook 2007 just fine. Both show up correctly in
Outlook 2003.
I am baffled, and would appreciate any insight that anyone might
have. The relevant system config is:
1. Windows XP Pro with SP2 (fully patched)
2. Office 2007 Enterprise Edition
3. Norton Internet Security 2007 with Add-on Pack (contains Norton
AntiSpam)
Thanks,
Gomer
