I have a strange problem with Entourage (12.0.0) and gmail via imap. I've been using Entourage and Gmail/imap for a few months - have gotten around most of the limitations/annoyances. But recently I noticed newer messages weren't showing up in message lists in various folders. I did the List Refresh, Repair message list, opt-command-L, etc. to no avail. It's weird. I also connect via imap to Fastmail and occasionally have lost messages. But the above tricks always fix the problem with fastmail. Not so now with my gmail imap.
Today I tried to rebuild the database and that didn't have any effect either. I understand there's no way to clear the cache in Entourage 2008 with imap (only exchange). Interestingly, I've also been cleaning up an old account and deleted it today. When I deleted it, Entourage said it was deleting that accounts cache and it did. So then I figured I'd delete the gmail account and hopefully the same thing would happen. It did not. When I deleted the gmail account, it just deleted it quickly with no notices of deleting the cache. So I rebuilt the database again. Then booted Entourage. I added the gmail account back in. And now: I can't get ANY messages to appear in lists in any folders in Gmail via imap to Entourage. Entourage knows there are messages there, so it tells me there are and even indicates there are new ones. But it won't give me the message list. Even after repeatedly trying all the above tricks.
Does anyone have any ideas? Again, my fastmail imap account is working just fine. No problems.
Is there any way I can totally blow away all information about the gmail account from Entourage database and make it start over? The known tricks don't seem to work. I have no other problems with Entourage.
Thanks.
