Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

This morning I logged into my account and received new emails. I sent mail and receive mail for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden I stopped receive mail.

I noticed that the progress bar at the bottom of the window showed that messaged were coming in... only they will not come in. I quit and started back up again. In the meantime another message was trying to come in... now I'm up to 17 messages waiting to be delivered to my Entourage Client.

I am able to log into Exchange and receive these pending message and respond to them. Entourage will not grab them off the server on my local computer.

My system software and Entourage software (Version 12) is up to date.

Any ideas?

This still has not been resolved. The Entourage progress bar hangs at about a quarter of the way across trying to deliver 19 messages.

I had some success in creating a new profile and downloading
everything to the computer again. This will pull the information off
of the server but you lose the local folders in the busted profile.
Unfortunately the users mailbox fried again and stopped receiving new
messages after about 3 weeks. This last failure happened immediately
after the latest Microsoft patch was applied.

The messages are still collecting in the web client, just not into the
Inbox. All other functions appear to be working; calendar, tasks,
address book.

Here is what I have done to try to eliminate the block...

Rebuilt the database - Did not fix the problem
Delete preferences in the Macintosh
HD>Users>[username]>Library>Preferences - Did not fix the problem
Performed permission repairs and hard drive diagnostics - Did not fix
the problem
Manually resynced the Inbox folder - Did not fix the problem
Manually resynced the entire Entourage account - Did not fix the
problem

I hesitate to dump this profile again and start over, this particular
user has dozens of local folders and it requires me to archive the
folders in the busted profile so I can move them to the new profile.

Is it your POP or Exchange account that is having the problem. If it's POP,
then it's a corrupt message on the server. You will need to delete it via
your web browser.

Since you know the date and time, look for messages that meet this time
frame.

I deleted all messages for the remainder of the day through exchange and it has not resolved the problem.

I have twenty-something message in my Exchange Inbox yet I can see that Entourage is still trying to retrieve 33 messages which leads me to believe that it has not deleted them.

Yes - I did empty the trash...
