messages stay in outbox

Doesn't seem to matter what I do (I've tried the suggestions I've found
online), messages are staying in the Outbox and not being sent. Even when
they italicize, which is supposed to indicate they're pending being sent,
they never go anywhere. Frustrateddoesn't even come close to describing how I
feel right now!

Is this a problem within OneNote or with an email program? If the latter,
please post to a newsgroup which supports that particular problem,
otherwise, which version of OneNote are you running, and are you using
Outlook 2003?

I'm sorry, but you've lost me. I don't even know what One Note is, so I
couldn't tell you if that's what I'm using. Its the Outlook Express that came
with an upgrade to XP Pro. In terms of your suggestion to post to the
appropriate group, as far as I was concerned I had - I found several similar
postings in this group (& tried the suggestions without success), which is
why I posted to it in the first place.

You're posting to the OneNote public support newsgroup, though, not one for
Outlook Express. Since you seem to be posting through the web-based
newsgroups, I'd suggest you use your Outlook Express to create a News
account (take a look in Help for guidance) with a server of
msnews.microsoft.com. You can subscribe to any of Microsoft's hundreds of
newsgroups you wish, including microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general. It
really is simple to do, and you can mark message, read only new ones and
even track your own posts in color, if you wish.

Thanks for the advice, execpt the whole reason I'm posting (and by the way,
when I originally posted, it was to a group for general questions on Outlook,
so I'm not sure what's happened) is becuz my Outlook isn't working properly!

Good, then use Outlook Express to set up the newsgroups directly, and you'll
also be able to ask about your Outlook issues. Make sure to list which
version you're using. BTW - Sometimes, depending on the problem, a simple
Detect and Repair from the Help menu in Outlook will fix issues.

By the way - just to further confuse the issue, the Outlook Express that
came with Win XP Pro is *NOT* Outlook. If you post the question in one of
the Outlook groups you'll get a response like this:

------------------
This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:
