Environment = Outlook 2000/Exchange 2000 - Frame Relay
Network infrastructure.
When someone sends a message with a large attachment to
one of my users, his PC seems to download the attachment
and halt all other processing on while this happens. My
user then opens the message and opens the attachment, it
takes the same amount of time to open the attachment as it
did to "download." The network activity on the NIC also
indicates that the attachment is being downloaded again.
Anyone know what is actually happening when the PC
is "Locked" during the first download?
More Info = Outlook client is configured for offline
storage, but if user doesn't sync... the message with
large attachment is not in is OST inbox. (Seems like the
user is "penalized" for initial download.)
