messages won't send from the outbox - been working fine til today

For some reason message won't leave the outbox. It has been working fine for
12 months so have no idea why it won't send now. I've checked for viruses,
i've done a detect and repair, my email server is working fine (web based
email)

any ideas?

Is it all messages or just one? Is there an error message/number when you
view send/receive progress? What version of Outlook are you using?

its all messages and there is no error report - it just sits there trying to
be sent (the message text goes to italic like its being sent but never
actually leaves). its outlook 2003
