Hallo,

Obviously by accident I changed from CW to IMO mode on outlook..

Since then outlook does not start any more. Tips on how to change there and
back I read, but since Outlook does not start, also this possibility I do
not have. Other tip is taking about changeing the registry, which also does
not make it start.

Whatever I do I cant get back to the CW mode.

More detailed: I double click outlook, outlook tells me that it needs either
to open pst folder or generate a new one. It does not matter what I am
doing, means give a name for new one or load an old one ( I got to know that
this will not help, since my pst folder have been generated under CW mode
?!) I always get the messaging error which stops outlook from going ahead.

Any hints ?

Thanks

Open Outlook - go to tools, options, and find the Reconfigure Mail Support
button. You may need to have your Outlook/Office media handy.

You can point Outlook at your existing PST file regardless of mode - you
just have to know where it is. Search for *.pst and include hidden/system
folders in your search. I personally dislike using the default profile
folder for PST files - I always move them somewhere else. Since I also like
to redirect My Documents somewhere else like c:\data (on a standalone
machine), I'd put it in c:\data\outlook\myname.pst .

As I said, Outlook does not start, therefore no possibility to go to these
option menues. What do you mean with having office handy ? Sorry Iam no
native speaker.

I also do not like the standard folder of pst. therefore I moved it and I
know where it is. They do not have any write protection or something
similar.
Sorry up now Problem is not solved.

Sorry I missed that bit. Can you start Outlook from the run line?

start | run |

browse to outlook.exe (usually c:\program files\microsoft office\office or
something like that - once you've selected the file, click "open" and it
should put the full path in the 'run' line.

At the end of that line, after the last ", type /safe

Then hit enter/OK.

Does Outlook open now?

If not, you may need to reinstall from your Office or Outlook CD.
