"messaging interface has returned an unknown error" in cached mode

When cached mode is enabled on my main inbox, I get the dreaded "The
messaging interface has returned an unknown error" everytime I (or the app)
wants to delete (or move) a message. Reproducable. Log file doesn't show
anything out of the ordinary.
