ok...I can see from all the posts that this is a tough one. Will be as
specific as possible and really appreciate any help that can be provided:
Version: Outlook 2003 on Win XP system.
Specific problem: that JUST developed: In the email application of Outlook
only, when in an email, the right button does not load the option for any
functions (copy, paste, etc.), not able to forward the email, no cc available,
won't access the address book...however can type in an address and it sends
fine.
Error MSG: Upon attempting to do any of those functions - "The message
interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart
Outlook."
Actions Tried so far to no avail:
1. Restarted Outlook
2. Restarted Computer
3. Emptied Deleted files folder (actually that was already done)
4. Used Inbox Repair Tool (found errors and said it repaired them but did
not fix this)
5. Used the Detect & Repair Office feature
6. Created a new profile. didn't seem to make any difference.
7. Tried with Word as the email format and without Word. Same problem
8. Pulled out my 22 and ....no, not there yet, but getting close.
Any clues?
All other features of outlook seem to be working fine and right mouse menu
works in all other features too.

Try opening Outlook using a switch:

The command line looks kinda like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe " /CleanReminders

Note: Paths that include spaces between words must be enclosed in quotation
marks (") and are case sensitive.

OL2003: Command-Line Switches by Microsoft Office Assistance:

Below are the switches that I suggest you try (in the order given):

a. /cleanprofile - Removes invalid profile keys and recreates default
registry keys where applicable.
b. /cleanviews - Restores default views. All custom views you
created are lost.

Check your calendar after each before you try the next. If the first works,
you do not have to try the other.

You needn't type the complete path; it will do typing outlook.exe
/parameter

Windows automatically completes the path based on the value "Path" in
the registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App
Paths\OUTLOOK.EXE

I was having the same problem. It was Google Desktop. Once I
uninstalled it, I was fine.
