Messaging Spooler Subsystem has encountered...

When I open outlook 97 and try to check email I
continually get "Microsoft windows messaging subsystem
spooler has encountered a problem and needs to close."
then outlook freezes and I can't shut it down without
going to control alt delete....any suggestions on how to
fix this...

it also happens when outlook first comes up????

Please help..thanks in advance.
