Messed up setting up Outlook

I was trying to move my messages from OE to Outlook. Instead of exporting
from OE (which you instructed me in an earlier post), I imported from
Outlook. Outlook opened up, and after prompting me for one email
address/account, immediately began importing me without giving me a chance
to specify which OE identity.

It took forever. Also, in the preliminary email address prompt, it saw all 7
addressed I have with my ISP, and had me select one of them. I chose the
"master" address. Later I went back to see what would happen if I chose a
different address, and it started importing the emails all over! Even though
there was a cancel button, I couldn't get it to stop without a hard boot.
Curiosity killed the cat.

Can you also give me instructions on how to backup my emails in Outlook?
Thanks in advance,

Start over with a clean mail profile and PST. Use the Mail applet in
Control Panel to create the profile, create a PST to add to it, and add your
main account(s). Then open OE and export your messages to Outlook. Only
the default identity's messages will export. Then start Outlook and import
the contacts from OE. Only the main identy's contacts will import.
