Messenger 8.5 installing on bootup

Every time I boot up my PC, I get a dialog box saying Messenger in
installing. After several seconds it opens as usual. This just started
today. I tried to reinstall Messenger, but got a message saying it could not
be installed due to an unknown error. I went to the Control Panel and
repaired the program, but the installation box still appears. Can someone
help, please? Thanks!
