Metadata removal

I am working in Word XP. Besides removing metadata from a file by using
Tools, Options, Security, Remove Metadata, can a user remove metadata from a
file (not tracked changes) by copying and pasting the document into a new
document? What does Remove Metadata in Tools, Options remove besides
information in the properties dialog box?
