metamail when microsoft outlook 2000 opens

I am trying to send messages thru microsoft outlook 2000, but when I open
this application a message displays: metamail has detected that a new
version of microsoft outlook has been installed in your system. You must
install metamail for it to function propertly with new version of outlook.

Metamail is an Outlook add-in. With Outlook closed, find and delete the
extend.dat file and see if that takes care of the problem. Note: If you use
Windows 2000 or XP, you'll need to include hidden folders when searching for
that file.
