getting this error on paste command that used to work
until i transformed the macro that used to process a
single workbook and stop running into a batch process that
updates workbooks in sequence

there could be many things that cause that error I suspect. So just posting
the error message isn't going to be of much help in diagnosing the error.
Since you say it started when you changed the environment of the macro, I
would look at what the situation is when the error occurs. This look more
like a context problem than a syntax type problem.
