Micro Office 2000 will not open

While working in word, all of the sudden I was not able
to open .doc files, and the application froze up. I
rebooteded my conputer but was still unable to open
files. I rebooted agin and now can not even open up the
application. In fact not of the Office 2000 applications
will open up. If I reinstall the office 2000 saoftware
will that fix the problem? Any better suggestions?
