How do I get past the demand for a qualifying product when
installing my own MsOffice XP which is running on my
desktop, onto my laptop? I recently bought a new laptop,
which only has msworks. Thanks in advance

If you had read the license agreement you'd notice that you can only install
your copy on one machine - unless you have a site license.

Is your version an Upgrade? If yes, it is looking for Office 97 or 2000 in
order to qualify to install. If you have the CD for either one, "show" it to
the installation when it asks.

One other thing, if the Office version that you have came with your
computer, you cannot install in on any other computer as OEM licenses are
tied to the machine on which it came preinstalled.
