for some reason i am now getting a window popping up when
i turn my computer on that says "microsoft networking
password". for 2 years i never had that. even though i
can just hit cancel to make it disappear - it's still a
pain in the butt. how do i get rid of this and how did i
get it in the 1st place?

thank you,

Is this Windows 9x? Most likely you need to go to your control panel and
then network settings. Then you need to change the drop down box from
"Client for Microsoft Networks" to "Windows Logon"

THis will bypass the logon screen after restart.
