Microsoft 2000 Update difficulties

I am trying to install the Office-2000 Core SR-1 update
but it keeps telling me that it did not complete
successfully and to call customer support. Has anyone
else run into this problem?

Yes, there are apparently many update problems with win 2000 and office
2000 and all appear to be related to installer and/or SR-1/SR-1a. Its
quite a load of bullshit because I have been trying for a week to fix
the problem and cannot. I have accessed all of the info I can find and
nothing has worked.
