Hey, I work at the Andrews AFB Library. We recently got a
bunch of computers in, and they all run office
professional 2k. Well, for some reason when you log in as
a user and try to do just about anything, it brings up a
MS office professional 2k installer program, retrieves
information about my setup, and always gives me this same
message, error 1706, no valid source could be found for
product ms office 2k. Which is pretty strange, because I
even put the cd in to help it out, so it's not looking
very hard. When the installer closes it pops right back up
again, and this process repeats six or seven times in a
row.
I thought this problem could be because of the reduced
access users have as opposed to the administrator name
that the software was probably installed under, but I
don't know how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.
