"Microsoft Access VBA dll error message"

F

I just installed Office 97 on a brand new PC running Win XP.
Although it worked fine on my old PC, on the new one, when I tried to open
Access, I get this error message:

"Microsoft Access can't find the Visual Basic for Applications DLL vba332"

I reimaged my PC and installed Office again, but got the same message.
Other applications installed and worked properly, so I know the CD/DVD drive
is working alright.
I also tried copying the dll from the Office CD, but that didn't work
either.

Does anybody know why this is happening? Is Office 97 incompatible with
Win XP Home?

My PC is Pentium 4, 3.2 GHZ. Thanks.

I have installed Office '97 on a PC running WinXP Pro. Works fine, so I don't
think it's a compatibility issue.

After you installed Office '97, did you run the SP updaters? You need to run
SP-1, then SP-2 (SP-2 won't run until SP-1 is applied). Download and install
these Service Packs and post back the results.
