Is there anyway to get Access working on a Mac? if so, it is horrendously
slow?

Access has not been implemented for the Mac. You'd have to run the Windows
version under Virtual PC (which would make it even slower !)

I use Access/VPC for development work - it's speed is adequate for my
needs (PB/1.33GHz/1GB RAM). If you're talking about a serious database,
though (more than a few thousand records), it will likely be too slow.

Excellent cross-platform alternatives are FileMakerPro and 4D. Neither
are directly compatible with Access, though.

Most of my commercial db work has shifted to MySQL...
