microsoft clip organizer error code 0x80040231

Hi,

I tried the information I found in the former e-mail, but
neither of these worked. Additional information, when
starting clip organizer, the error message appears and I
click ok, but there are only two categories: Office and
Web, cannot create a new collection, cannot add clips,
cannot access clips I added or downloaded. Any further
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have searched
the internet and asked other people, but cannot get this
corrected. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Penny

failed. I have spent the whole day trying to correct this error. May
have more answer soon. Seeing Microsoft Specialist tomorrow

I had that same issue for nearly a year and have been doing some serious
researching online to get it solved all to no luck. Everyone's advice
was pretty much to wipe the drive and re-install windows and office, I
did howeve stumble across a better solution. Since your post has been
there since Feb, I wonder, did you ever get it sorted out?

Well before I had been deleting the mstor and mstore catalog files in
the Microsoft Office folder under program files. Office would
automatically re-install the deleted files, but it would never fix the
problem. So I went to my profile under documents and settings,
Application Data folder, Microsoft folder, Clipart folder and deleted
the two files located there called Mstore10 and offic10. Once again
Microsoft Office re-installed the files and my Clipart works as prfect
as it did before. Hope it helps someone else.
