Microsoft Document Image Writer making the system unstable

When I send a print job to Microsoft Document Image Writer the CPU Usage is
going to 100% the process which is taking up the CPU usage is spoolsv.exe is
there any remedy to this, I have to manually delete the print jobs pending in
Microsoft Document image writer or kill the process from the task manager
then only the system is getting stable. pls. advise
