Using Microsoft Document Scanning with my Brother Laser DCP 1000. The
program will not recognize the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) I have
checked. It continues to scan each page and I can no longer scan multiple
pages into "one" document. Brother support confirmed the ADF works IF I use
it with their Paperport program - which I do not want to do. Can anyone
please - give me a clue as to what could be wrong?

Hi Niki,

There are some limits on the Automatic Document Feeders that work with MS Office Document Scanning. Are you using the TWAIN driver?

What version of Office are you using?

I'm not sure what driver is being used. The version of Office, is
2003-Professional. I'm 4 days into this "mess". Currently have printer
(Brother DCP-1000) uninstalled - this the result of hrs on phone with both
Brother & with Microsoft Office help calls. Problem started when I
attempted to install a "2nd" printer (Brother MFC665cw).

Bob: To update - spent 3 hrs on phone with MS Office folks. Problem simply
is: MSOffice Document Scanning will not scan multiple pages into one doc from
ADF. Every possible solution tried, including uninstall and reinstall Office
Program. Still no results. Another error message is "Could not initialize
Scanner". I am weakening in my resolve to conquer the problem.... if I do -
I will post the solution so maybe someone else can be helped. Thanks.

Niki:

I'm having a similar problem. When I try to scan multiple pages, the
first sheet scans properly and the rest of the pages quickly feed
through without being scanned. This is with a Brother DCP-8040.

My problems started with the installation of the SP3 Office update.

I'll let you when this is resolved.

Captain - thanks for your info. You describe "exactly" what happens. Just
FYI - if I scan through Paperport it works -- however then I have to transfer
it to my folder and rename it as a tif - annoying procedure. Look forward
to your solution when you find it - curious that we both use Brother printers
- hmmmm.
