Microsoft Equation 3.0

Hi,
I am having problem with spacing in M.Equation 3.0 Before,
when I had to add space, I split the equation to 2
sections and added some space, but now, my formula is in
a "{" so i can not use this method to add space any more.
Does anyone know how I can do this.
