Microsoft Equation Editor has encountered a problem

When I try to insert an equation in Word 2003, I got the following error
message:
"Microsoft Equation Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience."

It automatically started to install the equation editor again but failed.

My PC environment:
WindowsXP (English)
Office 2003 SP2

Any help would be highly appreciated.
