Microsoft Equation Editor

Norman

I have trouble inserting an equation using the microsoft
equation editor 3.0. I'm running office xp. When I tried
to insert object->microsoft equation editor 3.0,

1. an error pops up saying that it has encountered a
problem and needs to close.
2. It gave me an option for repairing it, but when I
click yes, it didn't fix the problem
3. A dialog box poped up and said "this object was
created in Equation. This application is not available tp
open this object. Make sure the application is properly
installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, ore
rename.

I've tried removing/reinstalling microsoft equation
editor and even removing/reinstalling the whole office
xp. Any other suggestions that I can try?

Thank you very much,

Norman

The problem may be caused by a conflict with the Norton Office Plug-in. You
can disable the plug-in without compromising your virus protection (thereby
solving many other related problems) provided you leave Auto-Protect
enabled.

I'm having this same problem. If I double click on an equation, I get error messages stating that equation editor isn't installed, and could have been deleted, moved, or renamed

I have repaired and uninstalled and re-installed the equation editor multiple times now, and still the problem persists.

I'm not running Norton Anti-Virus, either

Any suggestions

Have you checked to see whether EE is still installed?
