Microsoft excel and ms access

I have 40 forms that I need to fill in and generate reports. I don't want
to use access for this purpose, neither I want to use PHP programming. I am
wondering whether or not it is possible to use excel as an entry form and
access database as a data recording unit. Plz. Suggest
