Microsoft Excel has stopped working

New Laptop- bought this past November-I'm running Win 7 and Office 2007
Home/Student- my Excel stops working at least 6 times a day. I'm about to
pull my hair out. I have run the diagnostics. I have the latest updates. I
have spent hours searching forums looking for answers- I took my new laptop
back and the "Geek Squad" couldn't tell me why it was happening either- only
that the hardware and everything else except Excel were working fine.

I've tried disabling the "send to bluetooth" in my add-ins- but it wasn't
there. I've tried the tips to resetting the number to zero in the regedit -
didn't help. I'm beyond frustrated with Excel 2007 and Win. 7- NEVER had
this problem until Win 7.

Help!!! I don't know what else to do- I only have five programs on this
laptop that I use- Office 2007, Acrobat Pro 9, Irfanview, Virus Protection
and my HP Printer software/driver. I'm at a loss as to what to do, how to
fix and where to get help.

Dear Ms. Pieterse. You must have misunderstood the posting.
The problem has NOTHING to do with startup. And your page is
intended for those humans that have startup problems.

We are not having a startup problem. When you are done having naptime
at your kindergarten please come up with something relevant.

Thank you.
Please do not assume that education equals intelligence.
In your case, MVP has done you no good.

You did not mention your hardware. Not sure it matters.
We have exactly the same problem and Excel has become unsuable.
This is on a HP DV6 laptop purchased less than 30 days ago.
Pre-installed Win7 64bit Home version. Office 2007 PRO.
Fresh install of office. Running no other programs.
You tried the Bluetooth trick. I too read that but we have no Blutooth
either. That was a specific to HP listed solution.

We are considering a fresh install of WIN XP and maybe Office 2003.
As we have never - ever - had any issues with those two products.

Stinks though, we keep getting .xlsx and .docx (Office 2007) attachments.
The add-in translator/viewer only works sometimes.

One important note: support.microsoft.com does have an entry for this exact
error
but no solution or work around. Usually they do not admit to errors, but no
surprise that
they cannot fix it.

Anyone at all have any ideas ? I pleaded with my boss to buy a Mac but he
refused.
Now I am stuck trying to make this garbage work.
Never have used a Mac, just assuming they must be better than this.

Hi Rhodes2010,
Dear Ms. Pieterse.

It is MISTER Pieterse.
You must have misunderstood the posting.
The problem has NOTHING to do with startup. And your page is
intended for those humans that have startup problems.

Although the page does not say so, there are many suggestions on that page that
work equally well for problems which are not necessarily startup problems.
Shutdown problems for example.
We are not having a startup problem. When you are done having naptime
at your kindergarten please come up with something relevant.

I am a volunteer and as such try to help. PLease have the decency to stay
polite.

I have occasional startup problems, but the link no longer works. Is
there an updated link?
