No. Expression Web is aimed at standards compliant web sites, and
provides support for asp.NET 2 and PHP. FrontPage is aimed at, er,
websites, and does not support asp.NET 2, with little (if any) support
for PHP.
Yes, with reservations. VML graphics and FrontPage navigation view have
been removed. FrontPage navigation is still supported, but cannot be
edited, VML is not supported at all. Apart from these and one or two
database Wizards, almost everything you could do in FrontPage can be
done in EW - and a lot more.
or will I need both
Maybe - depends on your website and skills. I use both because some
pages use VML and some use the FrontPage navigation components.
Maybe - depends on when you want to go. FrontPage is still a useful web
editing tool.
