Microsoft Framework X library

Chris

When trying to open any program in Office X, I get an error statement
that "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft
Framework X library." The program seems to work fine, but it's a tad
annoying. The only clue I have is that I loaded Office as Root and am
trying to use it under another account, which does have system
administrator privileges. When logged in as root, I don't get the
error statement. Anyone have any ideas?

You've given the answer. Why do you need to be root? It's often dangerous.
Isn't administrator good enough? Permissions are probably not correct the
way you're set up. Microsoft Framework X probably needs both read and
execute permissions - at least read permissions - for whoever is running any
Office app. It expects to be in Microsoft Office X folder in Applications
folder of the boot drive. Although you can use symlinks or alias files to
that location (or to Applications folder in the user folder) you can't just
put it anywhere. So does Microsoft Office X folder have the right
permissions for you as administrator? I think you would do better to install
Office as administrator, not root.
