Microsoft installation dialog pops up when opening

Hello,
I am quite desparate.
I have a problem :Microsoft installation dialog pops up when opening
an office application (which requires me to put office cdrom into the
drive).
I work with office xp ***home edition*** with office (NOT office 2003)
but it asks me to put office xp ***professional edition*** !!!

Now everything was OK for a long tine. But after I got some mail from
a friend
with a document which was written in office xp ***professional
edition***
and opened it , this phenomenon started.

what should I do ?
