Hi I just have one question to ask...We have a pc that is used as a mail server using Microsoft Mail, office 2000 sr-1, and windows NT 4 SP 6, for problems of obsolete hardware..the pc's a pentium 2 350, we were thinking of transferring everything to our new server, but I can't seem to find Microsoft Mail anywhere. The server uses windows NT 4.0 Server, and as of problems with the installation of Office 2000 on windows NT Server, we used to have office 97 installed on that server and Microsoft Mail was included....but office 97 wasn't compatible with all of our office 2000 docs and excel files, so I tried installing office xp to overcome the compatibility problems with office 2000, but ever since I installed office xp Microsoft Mail has dissappeared, now I don't have problems for some reason with installing office 2000 on windows NT Server, and I have disinstalled office xp to install office 2000, but microsoft mail can't be found anywhere...is there a way of overcoming this problem? is there anything I'm missing out on?

I think you need to start again.

Recommendations:
1. Don't mix server functions and end-user functions on same machine.
Keep it simple.
2. Micosoft mail is defunct. You'll need to move to other mail software
(or find our CD for Microsoft Mail). Many options available in addition
to Microsoft Exchange.

And, to add to what Rob said, MS Mail is obsolete and unsupported, besides
being non Y2K compliant. Upgrade to a real mail server (mDaemon is a good
one for low cost) or use a free version you can find by using Google.com.
