Microsoft News Server List No Longer Works

When I click on the Microsoft News Server in Folders, instead of getting the
usual long list of newsgroups, I get gibberish and the following sentence
displayed vertically:
there are no pending schedules

Each letter and space listed as if it were a
N
e
w
s
g
r
o
u
p
..
I made a new account for Microsoft and it did likewise.
I am using the address: msnews.microsoft.com

(gibberish meaning not a-z nor 1-0 characters but å Å • etc.)

I have also had this listed in newsgroups:
Changed in the Past 7 Days

Adlephia newsgroups displays properly

I did a database rebuild approx. 5 days ago.
msnews.mircrosoft.com worked fine until this morning.

What do you think?

I cannot get a list of News Groups displayed via msnews.microsoft.com.
They have displayed fine in the past, and I am still displaying all the
messages from the groups to which I have subscribed.

Is there a way to reset this? Cache to empty? Etc.

No idea, never seen this--did you try the "Update List" icon that appears on
the toolbar when the Microsoft News Server icon is selected? It may have
been a temporary glitch, too.

Click on the news server icon in the Folder List. If you don't see the full
list of groups, go to View > Subscribed Only to turn the filter off and see
all of the groups. If that doesn't work, go to View > Receive Complete
Newsgroup List to download the list again.
