My operating system is Windows XP Professional. I just installled Microsoft Office 2000 CD 1
My PC does not allow me to install CD 2. Why
My PC does not allow me to use the Word program to write a letter, the key strokes does not register on the screen Why
My PC can open attachments in Word sent by email, but it will not allow me to compose letter Why ?

What is the exact error message on CD 2?

From you symptoms, seems as though your computer may be infected with
one of those viruses that we've heard about that cause Word to fail (and
you to think it's Microsoft's fault).

Fully check out your machine with anti-virus and spy-bot ad detector
programs.
