I am really disappointed with the EXCEL 2004 for MAC. I thought this program
was completely transparent and worked with its counterpart Excel for Windows
2003 without any issues.

I just found out that the GETPIVOTDATA functions does not work fine when
translated from the EXCEL Windows version to the MAC version.

I feel, we should tell Microsoft about this issue and have them work it out.

Right now, I feel I have wasted the money I have put to purchase Microsoft
Office for MAC.

I am sure other people have come across different issues between the two
versions. There is also missing a PIVOTCHART menu and option in the EXCEL
2004 for MAC.

So my question is : When is Microsoft Office 2004 for MAC GOING TO CATCH UP
???

We have no messenger, we have no pivot charting, etc..

Do we have to dump the OSX platform and jump into Windows ? Is that what
Microsoft really wants ?

If anyone knows how to make the GETPIVOTDATA function work in both platforms
and make a transparent exchange of functions without losing the connection
of the links let me know. I feel I have wasted my time.

I look forward to receiving some replies and answers,

Thanks,

Francisco

Hello,
I personally enjoy more the Mac ofiice 04 than te PC 2003. I was longing for
something like formating palete, ability to define your own keyboard
shortcuts for common operations in excel without need to do it by macro
(which needs to be done in PC 2003 version) so that's why I like the Mac
office more, however, in some circumstances, like you have, you might prefer
the PC version.
If you are looking for messenger, you can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=msnmessenger
or use different instant messanger application.
Hope this will help you a bit

Hi,

According to Excel 2004's help file GETPIVOTDATA is supported in Mac
Office. Do you have a specific example of such workbook that works in
Office 2003 but does not work in 2004? If you post it to the internet
for download we (meaning others who read the newsgroups) can check it
out to see what the problem is and if need-be we can send the
troublesome workbook to Microsoft for further analysis.
